2007 Larmandier-Bernier Champagne Vieille vigne du levant
750 ML France, Champagne
Lemon oil, white flowers and mint are some of the notes that open up in the 2007 Extra Brut Grand Cru Cramant Vieilles Vignes de Levant, which emerges from a parcel of 50-70 year-old vines in Cramant. Here the interplay of bright aromatics and vertical, old-vine structure come together beautifully. Next to some of the other wines in the lineup, the 2007 is a bit compact, but it is quite pretty just the same. The Vieilles Vignes is fermented and aged in a combination of neutral barriques and foudres. Dosage is 2 grams/liter. Disgorged: January 2015.
